When you are about to undergo a big change in your life and you are moving to a new home, giving up the old one that had harbored countless of memories and experiences, you will want to make sure that you have a good start to your new life in your new home. Before you get to the actual physical moving aspect of your move, there is going to be the packing. You shouldn’t make the same mistakes and underestimate the task and the importance of the process of packing all of your belongings into cardboard removal boxes, bags and other containers. If you follow a few simple rules, you can make the first huge steps towards a great and easy move just by packing correctly.
When you are about to start packing months and years worth of belongings that are currently sitting used or unused in the home that you are about to abandon for your new house, you should definitely make sure that you have everything at hand that you may be able to or have to use during the packing process. Collecting the correct amount of removal boxes is a great way to start the packing.
You need to estimate all of the things that will need to find space in your boxes and calculate the amount of boxes that you will need accordingly. Make sure that all of your boxes are in great condition, as faulty boxes can lead to damages of your property and mishaps in the move that will cause delays and frustration. If you are uncertain whether your boxes are still usable, be safe and buy a new set of removal boxes that will be sure to keep your belongings safely stored.
Next, you are going to need as much bubble wrap, newspaper and tape as you can get your hands on. While you are going to need the tape for just about any box, the newspaper and bubble wrap will be for those items that are rather fragile and may break because of movements, shifts and bumps during the transport. Even glassware like plates, bowls, glasses and vases can be well protected by just a few coatings of newspaper and bubble wrap. Also, don’t forget to have your scissors and markers ready for when you need them.
Simply having markers ready won’t do the trick for your move. You should make sure to use them in a way that will cut the amount of work that you are going to have instead of making matters harder. Once you know what each box is going to contain and you are aware which room in the destination is going to be dedicated to which purpose, take your marker and let your inner artist inspire you on the way to informing your movers where to go.
The more detailed you write on the boxes where they need to end up, the easier it is going to be for your movers to find the right spots in your new home. The last thing that you want is to have to do all of the work of carrying boxes again after a few days, when you realize that all of them were placed randomly in the rooms of your new home. By marking the boxes correctly, your movers will be able to place the boxes where they belong and save you much work in the process. You should also make sure, that the writing does not smudge in the case of rain or all of your efforts will have been wasted.
